ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi! I'm Mia Zambri, a high school art student. Art is an essential part of who i am. Not only is it something I do-it's how I process the world around me and make sense of my place in it. Art can allow people to express emotions, fear, goals, thoughts without really saying anything. In a world which often can be overwhelming, creating gives me a place of true clarity. Each piece i make is truly an extension of myself. Whether I am working with clay, pencil, or paints, I pour my perspective and intention into my process. Clay is most definitely my all most favorite medium, I find it natural to create forms.
My art often reflects something of importance or interest to me. Themes of memory, identity and emotion often find their way into my work. Allowing me to tell stories that words alone could never come close to capturing. t's been in my life forever, my grandma being an art teacher and my dad being an art major. Growing up surrounded by creativity gave me an early appreciation of the arts, as well as its value. Not only is art a skill, but a way of being.
My families influence helped to shape my confidence and curiosity as an artist, and I carry that sentiment into every single piece that I create. Art is more than a passion for me; its a langue. A langue in which I've inherited, transformed, and made my own. Art fuels my motivation, challenges my perspective, and constantly pushes me to grow. Through art, I've found not only a voice, but a feeling of purpose. If I wasn't consumed in art I wouldn't be me.
